The Conservation Volunteers
Welcome to The Conservation Volunteers in Leicestershire and Rutland.
We co-ordinate and run a wide range of projects within the two counties which offer a variety of opportunities for people to get involved in practical conservation work. There are opportunities to suit people of all ages and walks of life. You can gain new skills and make a real difference to your local environment.
By giving time, energy and experience to improve the environment, people can improve their own lives and surroundings:
- Gaining knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications
- Developing confidence and an increased sense of self-worth
- Improving mental and physical health
- Making new friends and broadening horizons
- Making sustainable environmental improvements
- Promoting biodiversity
Although some activities are dependent on local programme funding, most of our offices run programmes of conservation activities that are open to all.
